About Us
Doris Toney, a seasoned public relations professional, established Power Tone Communications in 2007 after a 20-year communication career in healthcare and manufacturing.

Doris left the corporate world to fulfill two life-long dreams: Create a public relations firm and  teach communications at the college level. She leads Power Tone Communications and serves as a full-time instructor at Henry Ford College. Doris teaches public speaking, interpersonal communication, and business and technical writing and research. She formerly taught at Oakland Community College and the University of Detroit Mercy. A two-time alumna of Wayne State University, Doris earned her B.A. in journalism and M.A. in organizational communication. She also completed general coursework at Ohio State University. She is a graduate of Leadership Detroit.
